Dear friends,
ESE 2014 will take place in Žilina, Slovakia on the 7- 12 September 2014. So far, we have registered 33 delegations from 25 countries all over the world. All the necessary information about the expo are provided at the website www.ese2014.sk. In case of any special demand or request, do not hesitate to contact us through the website or directly at lessova@amavet.sk.
We have sent the invoice for each delegation to its head of delegation and the organisation as such. The participation fee is 265€ per person. The payment is possible by bank transfer in advance, or by cash upon registration. All necessary information about the payment are available directly in your invoice. Please note that we prefer bank transfer and any payment by cheque will not be accepted. If you need more than one invoice for your delegation, please send us all the necessary information as soon as possible and we will manage it for you (please do this before 14 August 2014).
By today, we are still missing schedules of some delegations. If you haven’t provided us with your travel information yet, please do it as soon as possible(register it to the registration system for ESE 2014 or send it at lessova@amavet.sk). We need this to prepare the transportation for you.
Those of you, coming to Schwechat Airport (Vienna) are going to be welcome at the airport by our volunteers, who will show the bus you are supposed to take to get to Bratislava. Please remember the fees of the bus are paid by your delegation. The price is about 10 € per person; it depends on the transportation company. In Bratislava, at Mlynské Nivy bus station you will take our bus to Žilina, where the event will take place. Those coming to Bratislava Airport are going to be waited at the airport and transported to Žilina directly.
If you are coming a day earlier of leaving a day later after the event (before 7 September and after 12 September) please note that we are able to book you the accommodation in Žilina, which will be paid by your delegation. The price of extra accommodation in Žilina will be about 10€ per night per person. If anybody wants to spend an extra night in Bratislava, we recommend Hotel Tourist (near the bus station and city centre), where we can also manage the accommodation (the prices depend on the types of rooms- singles about 30€, doubles about 35€ and triples about 45€ + 1.65€ tax/ per night per person). In any of those 2 cases, please let us know before 14th August 2014.
The presentation of projects will take place at the University of Žilina in Žilina.The official language of ESE 2014 is English. The presentation will be in form of posters, whose sizes should fit into presentation stand (see the picture). A table, a chair and electricity will be available at each presentation stand. Wi-fi internet connexion will be available for each participant in the whole building of the University of Žilina. Please, feel free to bring all other requirements which are necessary to present your project perfectly.
As you might have noticed in the program of ESE 2014, the Cultural evening will be held on 9 September 2014. We would like to ask you to prepare a presentation of your country (it can be song, dance, video, power point presentation in usual .ppt; .avi; .mp3 and .mp4 formats). We would appreciate if you prepared it in advance and provide us with this on flash disc at least by 10am at the day of the Cultural night. We would like to stress the length of the presentation, which should last 5 minutes maximum (3-4 minutes recommended).
Every year AMAVET organises trips to Croatian Baško Polje camp, full of easy science activities and experiments for our participants. Thus we have decided to propose you an Extra ESE 2014 trip- a week full of sun, sea and science in Croatia at Baško Polje camp, situated at Makarska Riviera. The program is based on
experiments from the fields of chemistry, biology, ecology, astronomy, zoology and botany. The trip would start immediately after ESE 2014. If you are not interested in Croatia, you can spend one extra day in Slovakia and we propose you to visit our mountains- High Tatras and one of the highest and most visited peaks- Lomnický štít (Lomnický peak). Expo Sciences Europe 2014 is coming soon and we are looking forward to seeing you in Žilina, Slovakia.
